For several months now Youth workers have been out on Friday nights walking around town working with our young people ensuring their safety. We operate from Bridport Youth & Community Centre. One of our main aims is to encourage the young people of Bridport to come to youth club and hang out. We understand that youth club is not for everyone, this is why we have started outreach. We are doing this to make the young people of Bridport feel safe on our streets and have our help available to them if they need it. We work Wednesdays 7:30-9pm & Fridays 7-9pm patrolling the popular areas where our young people hang out, we chat to the young people making sure they are having a good night, keeping safe & staying informed about what's on offer for young people in Bridport.
Our Youth club is a registered c-card venue. The c-card scheme is aimed at young people between 13-24 years old who can register to get a range of free condoms, femidoms, lube, dams, information and advice. health and help young people to access local services.
All you have to do is visit @ Bridport Youth & Community Centre, have a short, informal, confidential consultation with a youth worker
who will then give your C-Card, condoms, lube& any help or advice you may need.
Once you have C-Card you can access free condoms from all our C-Card distributors.
We have a large team of dedicated youth workers who are trained in youth work, safeguarding & all hold a Enhanced DBS.
If you are enthusiastic and would like to get involved with the Junior Youth Club, Summer Club or the Senior Youth Club contact Heather Marston. The work involves helping to organise a range of activities including Arts, Sports, Competitions, Games and Social activities. No previous experience necessary.
